Tank Cure is an epoxy-based internal coating for steel fuel tanks. Tank Cure is used for sealing new tanks and for renovating old and rusty tanks with small leaks. Tank Cure seals small leaks in fuel tanks and provides a durable surface that lasts for many years. Resistant to fuel with up to 10% ethanol.

• How to use Tank Cure Tank Sealant in 3 steps

• 1. Tank Cure Tank Cleaner

  The inside of the fuel tank must first be thoroughly cleaned with Tank Cure Tank Cleaner. Pour Tank Cleaner into the tank and shake the tank at regular intervals for 1-3 hours; if your tank is very dirty, let Tank Cleaner work overnight. Then rinse the tank thoroughly with water and let it dry completely.

• 2. Tank Cure Rust Remover
  

  Always use Tank Cure Rust Remover even if there is no rust. Rust Remover not only removes rust, but also etches the surface, ensuring good adhesion for the tank sealant. The rust remover works best in temperatures above 25˚C.
  If your tank has a lot of rust, we recommend adding screws or nuts to your tank with the rust remover; this allows the rust to be properly loosened and removed when you shake the tank.
  Pour Rust Remover into your tank and shake the tank at regular intervals, allowing the agent to work. Do not leave Tank Cure Rust Remover in the tank for too long. Check the tank regularly to ensure all rust has disappeared; once the rust is gone, pour out the Rust Remover. Immediately after, rinse the tank thoroughly with water and let the tank dry properly to prevent new rust formation. A heat gun or hairdryer makes it easy to dry the tank.

• 3. Tank Cure Tank Sealant
  

  Preparation:
  First, ensure the tank is completely dry; no moisture should be present in the tank.
  Remove tap(s) and plug/mask all openings except for the fuel cap. Threaded holes can be easily sealed with suitable screws; this ensures that the thread is not covered by the tank sealant. It is recommended to mask the outside of the tank to avoid spills on the tank. Leave only one opening at the fuel cap. Before applying the tank sealant, the tank must be completely dry inside.
  Application:
  Ensure that the tank sealant and the tank have a temperature of at least 20˚C, so that the coating can spread properly. The tank can be gently heated with a hairdryer or heat gun before application to improve spreading.
  Mix the two parts of Tank Cure Epoxy Coating, pour it into the tank, and plug/mask the opening for the fuel cap. Slowly rotate the tank in all directions so that the coating spreads evenly over the entire inside. Do this for about 10 to 20 minutes, until the inside is completely covered, then pour out any remaining tank sealant.
  Now remove the seals from the fuel tap holes and other openings and check threaded holes, cleaning them with acetone or thinner if necessary. Remove the masking on the outside of the tank and check that there is no spill on the outside of the tank. Leave the openings on the tank open after treatment. The tank can be used again after 7 days of curing at 20˚C (room temperature)

• Practical tips

  • For aluminum tanks, use Tank Cure Aluminum Tank Cleaner, then Tank Cure Aluminum Tank Primer, and finally apply Tank Cure Epoxy Coating.
    Tank Cure Aluminum Tank Primer is mixed 100 parts by weight primer and 15 parts by weight hardener. Overpaint with Tank Cure Epoxy after 16h at a temperature of 20C. Otherwise used in the same way as Tank Cure Epoxy.

  • If you have an existing epoxy lining, use Epoxy remover first to remove the old lining.

  • Read the instructions carefully and make sure you understand them completely before use. You are using chemicals that are harmful if used incorrectly. If you have any questions about the use of Tank Cure, please contact our support.

  • It takes 7 days for Tank Cure Epoxy Coating to cure completely. Using the tank before it has fully cured will result in the coating peeling off.

Note: Not for use with plastic, fiberglass, or other composite material tanks due to chemical reaction.
